MLB 2K12 — [I stand up, start a slow clap, other people join in, and it becomes thunderous applause]. 2K Sports released their new ad for MLB 2K12, and it features the gorgeous Kate Upton showing off the pitching mechanics of the game in a trailer to pitchers David Price, Justin Verlander, and others. If you don't know who Kate Upton is, this is her:

Yea. Soooooo, good job 2K Sports. Kate Upton is a model that was in the 2011 Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, where she was named the Rookie of the Year. She is also going to be the cover model of the 2012 Swimsuit issue. I understand the casting of her in this ad completely, as she played in the 2011 Taco Bell All-Star Legends and Celebrity Softball Game at Chase Field in Phoenix Arizone. It was part of the MLB All-Star break. So she has to know a little about baseball, right?
The only problem here is the Yankees hat.
Anyways, back to the game — a celebrity never sells a game. Good features and gameplay sell a game. I haven't had any hands-on time with MLB 2K12 yet, but here's hoping it's as good as the ad is funny. Oh, and this is the face that Verlander makes when Upton is showing the pitchers how to throw a circle-change.
Here's the full ad for MLB 2K12, which releases on March 6, 2012 for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, Nintendo DS, PC, Wii, PSP, and PlayStation 2.
