In the beginning of August rumors suggested that Mighty No. 9 had been delayed. The rumors were quickly made official by game creator Keiji Inafune and Comcept (game studio). Inafune took to the Unreal Fest 2015 in Yokohama, Japan to make a couple promises and offer a bit of backstory on the delay.
If you're unfamiliar with Mighty No. 9, it's a game created out of Capcom being unwilling to hand over Mega Man's rights to the game's creator – Keiji Inafune. The creator worked around Capcom's c*ckblock and created a Mighty No. 9 Kickstarter campaign that ended with over $3 million – well over the goal.
Since hitting its goal on Kickstarter, Mighty No. 9 has seen two delays, but Inafune is promising that there won't be another one. Apparently, the game had to be delayed because of the sheer number of platforms the game would be releasing on. Currently, Mighty No. 9 is being developed for: 3DS, Linux, Mac, PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Vita, Wii U, Xbox 360 and Xbox One.
Inafune went on to promise that if the first game was a success, he would definitely look into a sequel. Mighty No. 9 is set to release on February 9, 2016.
