Kevin Conroy & Mark Hamill tease Batman: A Death in the Family animated film

Batman has a wide array of iconic stories. Not only is it because Batman is a great character, but his supporting cast like Robin, The Joker, Batgirl, and many others help provide great stories. Some of his best stories don't have super large amounts of action, they're just about the characters mixed in with a few small doses of action.

We recently got the most famous Batman story, The Killing Joke, adapted into an animated film with lots of controversy and mixed reviews. People were fairly disappointed in the way the story was handled but most can agree that the performances of Mark Hamill and Kevin Conroy as The Joker and Batman respectively are one of the best parts of the films

The two icons who have played the two archenemies for over 20 years were recently on a panel together at Canada's 2016 Fan Expo and hinted at what's to come in the future of Batman's animated films.

At one point during the panel, Batman himself, Kevin Conroy, turned to Mark Hamill and asked, "What do you think about doing 'Hush'?" The crowd erupted at the idea of one of Batman's best stories being turned into an animated film voiced by the two living legends. Hamill responded to Conroy by asking another question, "What do you think about doing 'A Death in the Family'?" The fan reaction was incredibly large as A Death in the Family is one of Batman's most important stories and something people have wanted to see on their screens for a very long time.

For those unfamiliar with some of these stories, A Death in the Family gave us the death of Jason Todd (Robin) which was incredibly shocking for may Batman fans. Before the issue was released, fans were allowed to call in to a hotline and vote if they wanted Robin to live or die. The vote was very close but we all know the outcome.

Hush is another fantastic Batman story about a mysterious character who challenged Batman in many different ways. The character has remained fairly obscure when it comes to mainstream adaptations of Batman but he has popped up in games like Batman: Arkham City and Arkham Knight.
