Kevin Smith is making a Mallrats 2

Actor/writer/director Kevin Smith has a lot on his plate. When he's not on his Comic Book Men 'The Secret Stash' podcast, or visiting his buddy Ben Affleck on the set of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, he's choosing project that he wants to make. On March 12, he tweeted his planned shooting schedule through 2016, and it consists of Clerks 3, Hit Somebody, and Moose Jaws. After that, he said "I smell a rat…"

Instantly, fans started favoriting it and retweeting him, and replies were aplenty with excitement and disbelief. Then this weekend on the Tuscon morning show Rock102 Mornings with Shmonty & Carolina, he confirmed that Mallrats 2 is going to be made. Smith said, "It's half a script right now, and we're pulling our loot together. We've got up until the beginning of 2016. By the time we get to May 2016, we're going to be shooting."

The original cast of Mallrats included Ben Affleck, Joey Lauren Adams, Jason Lee, Shannen Doherty, Stan Lee, Jason Mewes, and Jeremy London, among other. It's pretty much the most 90s cast ever. Smith didn't confirm who's returning for the sequel.
