Kickstarter backers of Double Fine Adventure, now called Broken Age, will be able to play Act 1 on Tuesday, Jan. 14. Designer Tim Schafer made the announcement over Twitter today.
Developer Double Fine Productions will announce the public release date on the same day, but backers get access first through Steam for PC, Mac, and Linux.
In July, Double Fine split the point-and-click adventure game into two parts so it could hopefully acquire enough resources to complete development — a bold statement considering the company raised a whopping $3.3 million in crowdfunding on Kickstarter in March 2012.
Haven't shipped a game of my own in 4.5 years, an adventure game in 16, a point-n-click in almost 20. Next Tuesday is going to be exciting!
