Kid Icarus stage revealed for Super Smash Bros. Wii U & 3DS

It appears that the new Super Smash Bros. game for Wii U and 3DS will feature some sort of Kid Icarus-themed stage. Game director Masahiro Sakurai strongly hinted at the stage with a new screenshot posted to Miiverse.

"You can find this statue of the Goddess of Light in one of the stages," he wrote on Nintendo's social platform, alongside the picture. "She's watching over the arena."

For those unfamiliar, that Paluetna, the goddess of light and rightful ruler of Skyworld.

Masahiro often takes to Miiverse to reveal little nuggets about the highly anticipated game. Earlier this month we learned that gameplay changes are being made to edge-guarding and that the 3DS and Wii U versions of the game will feature different trophies. For more on the new Super Smash Bros., including the roster of characters, check out our official game page.
