Kim Swift (Portal) and Clint Hocking (Far Cry 2) are making games for Amazon

Amazon released the Kindle Fire TV today, but they’re not done making news just yet. Kotaku has learned that both Kim Swift, known for her work on Portal, and Clint Hocking, known for his work on Far Cry 2, have joined Amazon Game Studios. This tidbit of information, combined with Amazon’s recent purchase of former Killer Instinct reboot developer Double Helix, proves that Amazon isn’t messing around when it comes to the video game industry.

Their roles weren’t exactly mentioned in the news report, but it’s hard to imagine that Swift and Hocking won’t have a big impact on the direction of Amazon Game Studios. Their work speaks for itself, after all.

At least their past work does. While the two haven't necessarily put up recent results, that's not to say they've lost their luster. Let's hope a change a scenery can re-fuel their fire.

No, that pun was not intended. I feel awful for it, though.
