Kingdom Come: Deliverance is undoubtedly among the most intriguing games coming out in the early part of 2018, as an open world RPG utterly devoid of fantasy and casts players into the role of a literal nobody. While Deliverance is being built primarily on PC, the console version of the game appears to be shaping up nicely, particularly for Xbox One X owners.
Speaking to WCCFTech, Warhorse PR Manager Tobias Stolz-Zwilling said that the Xbox One X version would manage to hit a 1440p resolution, while PS4 Pro will land at 1080p. He said that Microsoft’s upgraded console “allows us to use 1440p resolution, top quality Global Illumination, more and better shadows, better lighting and LOD distances compared to the regular Xbox One.”
Both the base Xbox One and PlayStation 4 will have a target resolution of 900p, so it’s quite the jump for Xbox One X owners. PS4 Pro users can expect a slight bump to 1080p, however.
“Compared to the Xbox One X, the PlayStation 4 Pro runs at 1080p resolution and slightly worse Global Illumination/particle effects simulation,” said Stolz-Zwilling. “Then again – we are pushing all platforms to their limits.”
Kingdom Come: Deliverance was funded initially on Kickstarter almost four years ago, and casts players into the role of the son of a blacksmith who sets out on a personal quest to regain a family heirloom. You are not known, heralded, or even cared about, and it’s a premise more games should try out.
Kingdom Come: Deliverance launches on PC, PS4, and Xbox One on February 13th, 2018.
