Kingdom Come: Deliverance takes realism to a whole new level

Kingdom Come: Deliverance is all about historic authenticity and the latest video that developer Warhorse Studios has put out today shows just that. The biggest example of this is an all new 16 slot armor layering system that players can customize to their heart's content. If this seems like a lot, it is, but as the developer's showcase in the video above, this is simply how knights would outfit themselves in the Middle Ages. This also isn't even counting the four weapon slots that players will have at their disposal.

Here's the breakdown of the armor layering system:

• 6 body slots (cloth, chainmail, plate, sleeves, gloves, coat/hood)
• 4 leg slots (trousers, chainmail, armor, boots)
• 4 head slots (coif, chainmail, helmet, necklace)
• 2 jewelry slots (ring, spur)

And the weapons:

• Hand weapon
• Shield
• Bow
• Arrow

That said, you don't actually have to use all 16 armor slots to get by in Kingdom Come: Deliverance, as the game wants to you to tackle it your way. It does this by offering an in-depth RPG system that lets players use Stealth and Diplomacy to navigate their way through the world. Of course, if all else fails you can use some good old fashioned combat to get the job done.

Your weapons and items will also degrade over time, so it is paramount to your survival that you upkeep your stuff (and try not to keep raw meat in your inventory too long). You will also need to take care of your character's well-being as they can become drowsy from a lack of sleep which can affect your overall vitality and combat strength, which will only make things more difficult for you, the player.
