Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning formally announced, Launches this September

THQ Nordic has finally formally unveiled Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. The remaster for one of last-gens most infamous games is set to launch very soon, this September 8th for PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. Check out the announcement trailer below!

An entire month after the existence of the Kingdoms of Amalur remaster leaked to the public, publisher THQ Nordic has ultimately confirmed it by unveiling it themselves. The cult hidden gem from the PS3 & Xbox 360 era is coming to current-gen and PC with updated visuals and even extra game content.

But those are expected improvements when it comes to remasters. What’s really outstanding is that an entirely new story DLC is being produced right now in Fatesworn, and is targeted to launch sometime in 2021. Keeping in mind that Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning will include all previous DLC, players should have more than enough content to play until that.

The hit RPG returns! From the minds of the bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston, comes Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Remastered with stunning visuals and refined gameplay Re-Reckoning delivers intense, customizable RPG combat inside a sprawling game world.

What this shows however is that THQ Nordic has bigger plans for the Kingdoms of Amalur IP than just a remaster. The announcement of a meaty DLC speaks louder than any words that Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is only the first step of establishing the IP as a big franchise going forward. We wouldn’t be surprised if a next-gen sequel is currently in the works.

But for now, we’re excited that an overlooked hidden gem of the past console generation is getting a second chance. And it really deserves it. After all, the infamous bankruptcy and management of the original developer made headlines more than the game itself sadly.
