The Microsoft Store has leaked the remaster for one of last-gens most infamous games. According to a store listing, Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning is going to bring back the action-adventure game back into stores this August 18th.
THQ Nordic bought the rights for Kingdoms of Amalur two years ago, so it was only inevitable that the delisted game would make a comeback. There’s obviously the possibility that this remaster is just the start and a full-blown sequel is going to happen in the future. But for now, we can enjoy Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. And yes, that is apparently the actual name of the remaster.
The hit RPG returns! From the minds of the bestselling author R.A. Salvatore, Spawn creator Todd McFarlane, and Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion lead designer Ken Rolston, comes Kingdoms of Amalur: Re-Reckoning. Remastered with stunning visuals and refined gameplay Re-Reckoning delivers intense, customizable RPG combat inside a sprawling game world.
Uncover the secrets of Amalur, from the vibrant city of Rathir to the vast region of Dalentarth to the grim dungeons of the Brigand Hall Caverns. Rescue a world torn apart by a vicious war and control the keys to immortality as the first warrior ever to be resurrected from the grips of death.
Since the listing is on the Microsoft Store, there is no mention of other platforms but in all likelihood Kingdoms of Amalur is going to come to the PS4, Xbox One, and PC at least. The jury is still out whether Nintendo’s relatively underpowered Switch will see a port too. But after today’s leak, we expect a formal announcement by THQ Nordic very soon.
