Kingsman 2 is a go

It’s been a great couple of years for the spy genre. The Man From U.N.C.L.E., Agent Carter, the upcoming SPECTRE, and of course, Kingsman: The Secret Service have all offered up some great treats (or in the case of SPECTRE, promise to). It’s a fun type of story that’s experiencing a kind of Renaissance and that looks to be continuing now that Kingsman is officially getting a sequel.

Director Matthew Vaughn and screenwriter Jane Goldman are reuniting to put the second film together and bringing back Taron Egerton as Eggsy. However, there are some scheduling conflicts due to Egerton’s new found popularity as he’s set to begin filming Robin Hood: Origins with Lionsgate around the time that Kingsman 2 is slatted to start its own filming, though it appears Fox and Lionsgate are willing to work it out.

The first Kingsman had a stellar cast including Colin Firth, Michael Caine and Samuel L. Jackson, so one hopes more of the same caliber will appear in the next film.
