If you thought your little 64 GB flash drive was a beast, Kingston is about to make you look like a chump. The tech giant just unveiled its newest DataTraveler Ultimate Generation 2 TB flash drive.
That is not a typo. That’s TWO TERABYTES you can carry around with you.
The new tech comes a year after Kingston released its 1 TB USB 3.0 flash drive, with this year’s model using a USB 3.1 interface.
In terms of size, the new flash drive measures at 72mm x 26.94 mm x 21mm, which is a bit bulky. As for storage comparison, Kingston says you can save up to 70 hours of 4K video, or a quarter million 16MB photos, or 96 PC games.
Don’t pull the trigger on purchasing this bad boy just yet. Although no official price point was revealed, the Kingston 512 GB version is selling on Amazon for about $300, while the aforementioned 1 TB version is currently selling for as high as $2,730. I’m no math major, but you can expect the 2 TB version to run somewhere around $5,500.
But hey, if you got the cash to blow and are in need of a ludicrous amount of portable storage – then this is meant for you.
