Kirby’s Dream Collection tops charts in Japan

Kirby is awesome, and it's great to see that the gaming community in Japan is well aware of that. During its first week of sales, Kirby's Dream Collection (or Kirby 20th Anniversary Special Collection as it's called in Japan) managed to rack up 100,000 sales. That's units sold, not shipped, which is certainly a nice thing for Nintendo.

The Kirby compilation made it to the top spot of Enterbrain's sales charts and even managed to take the number one position on the chart from Rune Factory 4 on the 3DS, another game that looks really cool.

It's good to see Kirby's Dream Collection succeeding in the land of the rising sun. As a huge fan of the Kirby series, I'm eagerly awaiting the collection's launch here in North America.

Kirby's Dream Collection is due out on September 16, and it will feature six classic titles, a beefy 45-track soundtrack CD, extra mini-games, a timeline book, and an in-game interactive timeline. Watch out for it when it lands on the Wii in a few months.
