Koei announces US release for Bladestorm: Nightmare, Toukiden Kiwami and Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires

Since I'm the resident Warriors games reviewer, today's announcement by Koei regarding three of their upcoming titles making it to the US in early 2015, is super exciting to me. Toukiden Kiwami, Bladestorm: Nightmare and Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires will all be making their way to the States in 2015.

If Bladestorm isn't ringing a bell, it was one of Tecmo Koei's spin-off titles to Dynasty Warriors, where gameplay consisted of managing your own army, and giving them direct orders on the battlefield, as you assumed the role of various historical figures like Joan of Arc. It was less about you against a 1000 enemies, and more about being a general and commanding your army against another. Bladestorm Nightmare will once again focus on this, but given the screenshots and the very limited info, it will also focus on fantasy aspects, such as going up against mythical creatures like Dragons.

Bladestorm: Nightmare (working title) follows Bladestorm: the Hundred Years War, which was released in 2007 on PS3 and X360. It is a strategy game at its core, focusing around the historical events that transpired in Europe of the middle-ages. The player assumes the role of a mercenary and chooses to fight either for England or for France in various battles of the 100 year’s war.

Toukiden: Age of Demons falls into the monster hunting genre of PS Vita games. It was a game I very much enjoyed, and Kiwami looks to add onto the game, similarly to games like Soul Sacrifice Delta and Ragnarok Odyssey Ace.

Introducing more Slayers, Oni, storylines, and chapters Toukiden Kiwami will be a robust expansion of the largely successful Toukiden: The Age of Demons which was released February 2014 for the Playstation Vita.

Lastly, no Dynasty Warriors numbered titled is safe from the Empires series. Dynasty Warriors 8: Empires will once again focus on players creating their own generals and armies.
