Some people just can't help but stir the pot sometimes. In the wake of Metal Gear Survive's gameplay reveal, the legendary former Metal Gear developer Hideo Kojima was asked a question about the game during a stage presentation for his upcoming game, Death Stranding.
Kojima answered simply:
"That’s nothing to do with me!"
Unfortunately, he continued and called out the game's use of zombies (even though the reasoning is rather dumb). He said:
"The Metal Gear games are about political fiction and espionage. Where do zombies fit in with that?"
Joining Kojima on stage was Yoji Shinkawa, a former character and mechanical designer for Metal Gear series who joined Kojima Productions to work on Death Stranding. He chimed in as well.
"If I had worked on that game, it would have mechs in it."
It's understandable that Kojima might still be a bit salty over his departure from Konami, but at the same time, there comes a point when you just need to let things go. It's been over a year, and he has a new studio and a new game coming out that the world is in love with by virtue of his name alone. In other words, he's made out pretty well compared to 99.9% of every other game developer that's ever been laid off.
Metal Gear Survive will release sometime in 2017 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
