Konami has announced that the headliners for its gaming lineup at this year's Gamescom in Cologne, Germany will be Metal Gear Solid V The Phantom Pain and Pro Elite Soccer 2016. Both games will be playable for the first time and those in attendance will be able to go hands on with both titles till their hearts content.
MGS V Phantom Pain marks a new era in stealth games as Snake ventures into the open world during either broad daylight or the darkest of night and the new, dynamic weather. Players will need to match their tactics to fit the environment and decide whether stealth or a full frontal attack is the best mode of operation. PES 2016 will also highlight new gameplay modes and features such as presentational elements and new additions from its FOX engine.
“METAL GEAR SOLID V: THE PHANTOM PAIN and PES 2016 will be available for the public to play for the first time at this year’s gamescom; and that´s the kind of line-up that packs a punch,” said Martin Schneider, General Manager at Konami Digital Entertainment B.V. “KONAMI is going to present two stunning games for the current console generation at the most important consumer exhibition in the world, and further showcases KONAMI’s commitment to bringing AAA-titles to the consumer.”
Both games release in September with MGS V landing on September 1st and PES 2016 on the 15th. It will be interesting to say the least to see how MGS V pans out now that Hideo Kojima is gone. It's safe to say it just doesn't feel the same with such an iconic figure missing from the game.
