Earlier this week, Konami notified gamers that a bug in Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain had the potential to corrupt your game. It was believed that the bug was caused by bringing Quiet along as a buddy in Mission 29 and/or Mission 42, doing so could create a never ending load loop.
New information from Konami offers further insight on the bug. Apparently, the bug is only triggered by "certain circumstances" when Quiet is your buddy during those missions. Turns out there's a way to eat your cake and save it too.
You can bring Quiet along on those missions, as long as you use the Butterfly Emblem throughout the mission or by not allowing your Bond Level with Quiet to reach MAX during the mission.
Konami has no fix for the bug yet, but they are working on a fix for the bug and for any save data that has been affected by bug. No one is really 'safe' from the bug, it is affecting people across all platforms. While you can still bring Quiet around on those missions (as long as you keep the two points above in mind), it might be safe to leave Quiet behind on those missions until there's a fix.
