Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain officially released earlier this week, giving gamers an opportunity to officially dive into the critically acclaimed game. While The Phantom Pain's single-player campaign has gone off without a hitch, the online multiplayer aspect of the game has been riddled with complaints.
Some users have been able to experience online gameplay smoothly, while others have had a much harder time accessing it. Offering a quick fix for the issue, Konami disabled certain features of the online mode in hopes of offering a better gameplay experience.
Reports are coming in that Konami has taken The Phantom Pain's servers down for maintenance as player issues have persisted, regardless of their attempts. Konami's Japanese website was last updated at 10:20am EDT, saying that The Phantom Pain was taken offline across all platforms. In the post announcing the maintenance, Konami noted that there may delays in keeping information updated — but the latest updates would be found on their Official Twitter account (jp).
