Konami disables some features in Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain

Only in online gameplay.

If the Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain's campaign mode hasn't been enough to keep you invested and out of the multiplayer mode, there's a chance that you have been facing some server connectivity issues during online play. In light of the inundation of complaints of server issues, Konami has taken action.

According to Konami, the connection issues are due to the sheer amount of people attempting to play online at once, their fix for this is to disable certain features on the games online play. So far, most of the disabled features simply limit Forward Operating Base gameplay.

Taking to Twitter, Konami detailed the steps they took to offer smooth gameplay. The amount of Forward Operating Base missions that were displayed have been decreased, the Win/Loss, Points, Support and Heroism information on the Forward Operating Base Mission list has been entirely disabled, and the number of missions listed in the online Combat Deployment menu has been limited.
