Sony Santa Monica's new take on God of War surprised everyone back at E3 2016. It was evident from the get-go that we were in for an entirely different type of game; a shift on the scale of something like Resident Evil 4. And on top of that, it appears as though Kratos has settled down to live a quiet life, and even had a son. However, the developers have had their lips sealed pretty tightly since the game's reveal, but it took one fan with a keen eye to glean one detail that wasn't revealed to us yet, Kratos' son's name.
Sony Santa Monica has been celebrating the game's E3 demo getting 15 million views on YouTube, and one of the things they did was release a downloadable version of Bear McCreary's E3 Overture music from the conference (which you can download here for a limited time). A fan on Twitter noticed a little detail in the mp3 Comments tag that read, "An introduction to Kratos and Atreus." And wouldn't you know it, we have Kratos' son's name.
God of War's Director Cory Barlog took notice and confirmed via Twitter. Here's that tweet.

Atreus has a long road ahead of him before he's fit to fight all of the supernatural Nordic creatures that inhabit his land, but there are plenty worse teachers to show him the way.
