In 2013 a Kickstarter campaign was launched by Laser Unicorn, a 28 year old director, looking to fund Kung Fury – an 80's cop movie. The campaign ended with more than 17,000 people pledging a total of over more than $630,000.
Kung Fury premiered at the Cannes Film Festival earlier this month breaking away from the typical Cannes drama film, with a film that's ripe with nazis, dinosaurs, 80's technopop, a David Hasselhoff song, vikings and cheesy one-liners.
Our protangonist is a Miami cop named Kung Fury, who happens to be on a mission to kill his nemesis, Hitler. Fury's mission takes him through cyberspace, the Viking age (that has machine guns and laser raptors), and more. It's amazing, simply amazing.
