Earlier this week, Halo 5: Guardians box art leaked online to reveal a download size of up to 60GB. The Xbox site suggests that the game itself would be around 47GB, if this game file size is true the remaining 13GB will be made up of updates and save files.
343 Industries Studio Head, Josh Holmes, has supported this hypothesis by revealing the size of the day one Multiplayer update. According to Holmes, the Multiplayer update will be 9GB worth of Multiplayer map content.
This patch will essentially be downloading the rest of Halo 5, considering Blu-Ray disks can only hold up to 50GB on content.
At launch Halo 5 Multiplayer will feature a mix of classic and new game modes, across tons of maps. The biggest addition to Multiplayer will be Warzone (essentially Big Team Battle on steroids), a 24-player match filled with AI enemies, that can be played on one of the biggest maps ever created for a Halo game – Apex 7.
If you have purchased a digital version of the game, you can start pre-loading now! Halo 5 is set to release on October 27th for the Xbox One.
