Microsoft's Hololense was initially revealed as an augmented reality headset that could transform an entire room, with little to no limitations when it came to field-of-view. When technology sites like Ars Technica and Verge got a hold of the devices, they couldn't help but notice one thing – the Hololens did not function as it had been advertised.
The field-of-view for the headset is startlingly small compared to the images that were shared, images that showed the device taking over an entire room making it into a land of Minecraft. A new video from Microsoft shows off the disparity between the advertised view and what you are actually going to be seeing when using the headset.
This field-of-view doesn't make the piece of technology any worse, it is still a really cool concept. It would be nice if the Hololens could display the marketed view instead of the actual view.
