Lawbreakers to get New Class, Maps and even Modes this Year

Lawbreakers is approaching its 4 week anniversary since being released and Cliff Bleszinski's BossKey games are updating the community on what the rest of 2017 holds for their new fast-paced shooter. While some pundits have been a little sheepish on Lawbreakers, a few of us here at GameZone love it, so it's encouraging to see that BossKey has a lot in store for the game's future.

According to the BossKey website blog (requires age verification), they have a lot in store for the fourth quarter, starting off with a new map called Namsan, which is the first map that does not take place in the post-shattered United States. This map, seen below, is in testing and is scheduled to drop later this month.

A second new map, due after Namsan is called Gateway and it's an entirely made for Blitzball. BossKey clearly likes Blitzball and the fact that they made an arena for the mode, plus some upcoming character and weapon skins that are Blitzball themed, clearly shows it. A third new map is currently in development and is due later in the year, it is called Valhalla and it's Lawbreakers' first asymmetric map that takes place in the Sequoia National Forest.

The team is also adding new Skirmishes to the game, to allow players to play the game slightly differently, these new skirmishes will also include Team Deathmatch, as requested by players.

A new class for both Law and Breakers will be added before the year is up. The blog says that the character's kit is "locked and approved" by the QA and design teams and "he's" off to the art production team for the final stages. The image below teases the new male character who appears to be holding a rather large gun that requires two hands, which could be anything from a cannon, laser or another mini-gun type weapon.

Last but not least, Lawbreakers is adding a competitive mode, the "LawBreakers Boss Leagues." While not much is known or discussed, other than teasing players with this is the place to test your skills, to see how you stand up against the best Lawbreakers has to offer. They presented a new logo for the leagues and promised more details later when the mode is closer to release.

If you're a Lawbreakers fan, this is all great news and it gets even better. As previously mentioned by BossKey, all future content for the game will be free! So for just $29.99 (or $39.99 for the Deadzo Edition), you can't go wrong. If Destiny 2 and it's MMO like gameplay with paid future content isn't your bag, you can't go wrong with Lawbreakers.
