Layton Brothers passes 1 million downloads on iOS

Level-5 released a spin-off in the Layton puzzle-adventure series late last month called Layton Brothers: Mystery Room, which follows the genius son of Professor Layton. It's since cracked 1 million downloads on Apple's App Store across North America and Europe.

In a twist, the game only released on iOS (not Nintendo's handheld), and the first two case files are free. The other seven are bundled into two packs and available through in-app purchases.

The game stars Inspector Alfendi Layton, whose dad is Professor Hershel Layton. He's appeared in seven games (if you count the Japan-only Ace Attorney crossover) and one movie.
