Once again, Seattle will be playing host to League of Legends as Riot Games announced today plans to bring the North American Regionals back for PAX Prime on August 29-September 1. The NA Regionals tournament will determine the top three teams that will move on to represent North America at Worlds. What's more, PAX Prime will also see the International Wild Card regions played, with Latin America and Brazil facing-off for one of the International Wild Card spots for Worlds.
"Bringing the NA Regionals to PAX fans lets us bring competitive, live action to esports fans and gamers from all over the country. Each year thousands of fans make the journey to Seattle to connect and check out the latest in gaming and esports. We can't wait to bring the peak of the North American LCS 2014 season direct to some of the most passionate fans out there," said Riot Games League Operations Manager Nick Allen.
The top six at the end of Week 11 will be going to PAX Prime to compete, with the top three teams from NA Regionals along with the International Wild Card winner moving on to the 2014 Worlds Group stages. The last place team in the Regionals tournament will go into Promotion Tournament to face-off against Challenger Teams to reclaim their spot in the LCS.
The playoff quarterfinals will take place the week before PAX in the LCS Studio, with the remainder of the NA Regionals playoffs and the 5th place match being played in Seattle. All playoff matches and the IWC matchup at PAX will be best of five games. Below is the full schedule.
