Leaked achievements list points to confirmation of standalone, arcade Far Cry 3 title

Earlier this month, a leaked Xbox LIVE Arcade logo suggested that Far Cry 3 was receiving a standalone arcade adventure titled “Blood Dragon.” Today, these rumors have been put back in the spotlight, and even intensified, as a leaked achievements list for the arcade game was made public thanks to Exophase.

The achievements reveal a handful of newsworthy items, most notably the fact that, yes, you’ll be battling dragons in the game, and yes, the game will be called Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon. They also reveal that there will be some sort of ranking system in-game that can make you the “ultimate badass,” and that there will be hunter quests that trail for the main storyline. There’s no word from Ubisoft if this is true, but this extensive list surely wasn’t created from the blue, and it lines up perfectly from earlier reports. There hasn’t been any substantial DLC released for Far Cry 3 itself, so it would make sense that Ubisoft has been putting together this standalone “expansion.” And if so, there’s a possibility that we might be seeing it sooner rather than later.
