New photos leaked from the set of the upcoming Assassin's Creed movie have given us a new look at Michael Fassbender dressed in his assassin costume. The four images, shared by Skript.fr, don't show off too much — it's mostly just Fassbender walking around the set.
Although the movie is based on Ubisoft's iconic video game franchise of the same name, Fassbender will actually be playing a character created specifically for the film version — Callum Lynch. Also starring in the film is Marion Cotillard, Ariane Labed, Jeremy Irons, and Brandon Gleeson.
The movie isn't a retelling of the existing Assassin's Creed games, but instead plays off the same concept while introducing new characters into the same world.
"Through a revolutionary technology that unlocks his genetic memories, Callum Lynch (Michael Fassbender) experiences the adventures of his ancestor, Aguilar, in 15th Century Spain. Callum discovers he is descended from a mysterious secret society, the Assassins, and amasses incredible knowledge and skills to take on the oppressive and powerful Templar organization in the present day."
