Since the new trailers of Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad debuted at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this month, there's been plenty of speculation surrounding the films' stories and how they could somehow link to one another. But most of that talk has revolved around Batman's involvement and a possible scene with Robin.
While none of that has been confirmed or denied, we do have new evidence now that points towards the telling of The Joker's origin story in Suicide Squad. The speculation stems from a now-removed Instagram photo from Ingrid Kleinig, the stunt double for Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn). The photo, which has since been deleted, revealed that a scene will take place at Ace Chemicals — the place where the Joker fell into a chemical vat, resulting in his trademark white skin, green hair, and red lips.
Unfortunately, we never got to see the Joker's journey in becoming the psychopathic Clown Prince of Gotham in The Dark Knight, which is unfortunate because I think Heath Ledger would've done a tremendous job in the character's portrayal. Although the mystery surrounding his origin was part of what made Ledger's Joker so great. While the jury is still out on Jared Leto's interpretation of the iconic villain, I think the opportunity Suicide Squad offers in terms of expanding upon the Joker's story is fantastic — if true.
Other members of the Suicide Squad crew have also posted photos teasing the Ace Chemicals location. Those have also since been removed, but as they are probably finding out — once on the internet, always on the internet. Check out the image gallery of Suicide Squad's Ace Chemicals set below.
