Left 4 Dead 2: Cold Stream release date announced

After a year of play testing, Valve is ready to release Left 4 Dead 2: Cold Stream. The new content pack, which features the Cold Stream campaign along with class maps Death Toll, Dead Air, Blood Harvest, and Crash Course, will release on Xbox 360 and PC on July 24.

Valve pulled the ol' "we've got more surprises and details coming later" routine, and instead chose to announce that mutations will now be available at all times.

"There are some other surprises and details we will give you later but for now we just want to confirm an often requested feature," Valve wrote. "With the update going out at the same time (also for the PC), all of the mutations will be available at all times. This will allow players to choose to match into games playing Taannkk!, Gib Fest, or even a user created mutation like Confogl."

More information will be released "in the coming weeks" as Cold Stream gets closer to launch.
