Left Behind will be the first, and now officially last, singleplayer add-on for Naughty Dog's The Last of Us.
Addrssing fans' questions on the PS Blog, Naughty Dog Community Strategist Eric Monacelli confirmed, "We don’t have any more single player DLC planned."
When Naughty Dog first unveiled The Last of Us Season Pass, they promised three separate add-on drops. The first, Abandoned Territories, was released in October and offered new multiplayer maps. Next up will be Left Behind, singleplayer content that delves into the background story of Ellie and her friend Riley as they attend a military boarding school in the Boston quarantine zone.
We don't know what the third DLC pack will consist of following Left Behind's February release, but Monacelli did confirm that it will be multiplayer content. "There's multiplayer DLC comin gin the next DLC drop," he wrote.
As someone who was invested more in the story than the tacked on multiplayer, I would've preferred to see more singleplayer content added. Alas, maybe Naughty Dog is just holding out for a sequel. I'm sure we'd all love to see more of Ellie and Joel in the future.
