Legend of Kay Anniversary appears to be coming to Nintendo Switch

Looks like more people will get to play the PS2 cult classic.

The cult classic PS2 action-platformer, Legend of Kay looks like it will be heading to yet another platform courtesy of its Anniversary edition. The ESRB has added the Nintendo Switch to its platform listings, indicating that the game will be coming to the console/portable.

Visually, Legend of Kay Anniversary makes a ton of sense for Nintendo audiences, as it stars a cartoon tiger named Kay who battles other animal enemies such as rats, gorillas, crocodiles, turtles, and bears. According to the ESRB listing, the game does also have a mention of the word “bastard,” so Nintendo seems to be branching out somewhat on their kid-friendly image.

(Kidding.)

Legend of Kay Anniversary had something of a quietly mixed critical reception upon its release in 2015 on Wii U, PS3, and Xbox 360. The game’s Metascore sits at 67, so don’t expect the Nintendo Switch version to reach much higher, if at all. That said, it can be tough to translate a game from two console generations prior, so give it some slack.

It’s worth noting that there hasn’t yet been an official announcement from developer Neon Studios or publisher THQ Nordic, so for now, we’ll just have to wait it out.
