LEGO Batman spinoff movie might have found its Joker

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Zach Galifianakis is in his final negotiations with Warner Bros’ which will have him star in their latest LEGO spinoff movie, LEGO Batman.

If Galifianakis signs, he will be taking the role as one of the most infamous villains in the world, the Joker. He will be joining Will Arnett who originally starred as Batman in the LEGO Movie. Michael Cera will also be joining the cast as the boy wonder, Robin.

Dan Lin, Roy Lee, Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will be producing the movie while Chris McKay, the animation supervisor on Lego Movie, is directing the movie based off the script written by author-screenwriter Seth Grahame-Smith.

Galifianakis definitely has the comedy aspect of the Joker down, but could he capture the sinister side of him as well? Galifianakis is well known for his roles in movies such as the Hangover trilogy, Due Date, The Campaign and Birdman. The LEGO Batman Movie is set to hit theaters on February 10, 2017.

In related casting news, Mark Hamill is set to reprise his role as the Joker in DC latest movie' The Killing Joke'.
