The LEGO games have been a smash hit on consoles, so it's only fitting that Warner Bros.' upcoming movie, LEGO: The Piece of Resistance, features two stars from the LEGO game franchise: Batman and Superman.
Variety has reported that the film, which will be directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller, will feature the two comic-book icons who just so happen to have a major presence in the LEGO franchise of games. Batman, of course, is the star of the recently released LEGO Batman 2: DC Universe, which features Superman as a playable LEGO character. It also helps that Batman will be hitting the big screen later this summer in The Dark Knight Rises.
Will Arnett (Arrested Development) will voice Batman and the directors are allegedly courting Channing Tatum to voice Superman. Chris Pratt (Parks and Recreation) will voice the film's main character.
LEGO: The Piece of Resistance is a hybrid of live-action and LEGO-based animation.Chris McKay will be co-directing the film, presumably in charge of the animated LEGO portions. The film is set to release on February 28, 2014.
