Leonard Nimoy was more than Spock in Star Trek; he was a musician and the voice of a number of characters in video games. Three months after his death, Nimoy's son, Adam Nimoy, has launched a Kickstarter to raise $600,000 in order to create a documentary about his father titled, "For the Love of Spock."
Prior to his death Leonard Nimoy and his son agreed to work together to create the documentary exploring "the birth and evolution of Spock." With the 50th anniversary of Star Trek: The Original Series nearing both Nimoys consider now was the best time to bring the documentary to life.
“The funding of this film through Kickstarter will enable us to continue with production — which will mostly take the form of filming interviews of dad’s friends, colleagues and family members,” Adam Nimoy said. “It will also enable us to license the hundreds of film clips and still photographs of Mr. Spock as he has appeared on television and in feature films over the last 50 years.” The documentary will be narrated by Zachary Quinto, who portrayed Spock in the most recent Star Trek films.
