Less than a year in, Dead Island: Epidemic closes servers next month

It hasn’t been a good couple of months for Deep Silver’s Dead Island franchise. Back in July the publisher announced they were parting ways with Dead Island 2’s developer, Yager, effectively putting the project in the fridge and now Deep Silver is also announcing that their tie-in MOBA, Dead Island: Epidemic, will also be nixed on October 15th.

Via their site, the team stated, “We will be leaving the servers open until the end of October 15th (Pacific Time), during which time we’ll run a very large discount on all characters and boosts to give everyone a chance to spend any remaining currency on characters and items you may have wanted to try before, but never did.”
