Ubisoft has shown us a deeper look at the vast gameplay opportunities of the ambitious Watch Dogs: Legion. We now also know that with a release date of October 29 for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Google Stadia, we won’t have to wait much more. Watch the gameplay overview trailer here!
One of the more surprising outcomes from the past week’s wave of Ubisoft leaks was in regard to the new Watch Dogs game. While Valhalla and Far Cry 6 experienced massive leaks, Watch Dogs: Legion got away the best with only a handful of screenshots making it public.
As such, Legion was arguably the highlight of yesterday’s Ubisoft Forward event. Not only did we get plenty of new gameplay footage to ogle at, but we now also know that it’s coming out on October 29th.
Watch Dogs: Legion is coming on October 29, giving players the chance to lead a resistance against the criminals and corrupt private military corporation that have twisted its near-future version of London. As an operative charged with rebuilding the hacktivist resistance movement DedSec, every character you see in the game’s open world is a potential playable recruit. Find out what they need and how to help them, and they’ll join up, letting you build a resistance cell of up to 40 operatives with diverse skillsets that range from street artists, football hooligans, and construction workers to politicians, grandparents, and spies.
Besides the trailer above, we also get a funny new video that’s especially great at conveying the type of player freedom very rarely seen in games. Here, we witness how different citizens can affect the entire approach and playstyle of each mission in massive ways. The replay value at hand is quite staggering. Watch it here!
We also learn that owners of the game on the PS4 and Xbox One will receive the next-gen versions on the PS5 and Xbox Series X for absolutely free once they come out!
