Jeppe Carlsen, the lead gameplay designer on Limbo, is working on a new game that looks about as far as you can get from the gloom and shadows of Playdead's hit title.
This isn't the code-named "Project 2," which is in development at Playdead and set for a 2014 release. This is a "challenging, minimalistic platformer" by Carlsen (design and programming), Jakob Schmid (audio), and Niels Fyrst and Andreas Peitersen (shapes and colors).
140, as it's called, was nominated for Excellence in Audio at the Indie Games Festival 2013, with an honorable mention in Technical Excellence. The game features abstract graphics and requires "rhythmic awareness" to "overcome obstacles controlled by an energetic yet melancholic electronic soundtrack," according to the website.
It's much more colorful than you'd expect coming off Limbo, and it's due out for PC this year, according to IndieGames.com.
