The new entry in the “Terminator” series is definitely bringing some surprises. Not only is James Cameron coming back to the series, but the Deadpool director, Tim Miller, helm the film, and some familiar faces will be making a return. Arnold Schwarzenegger has already been confirmed to make a more human return and now, Linda Hamilton has been added to the returning cast list.
James Cameron confirmed Hamilton's return to the franchise during a private event. He made the announcement saying, “As meaningful as she was to gender and action stars everywhere back then, it’s going to make a huge statement to have that seasoned warrior that she’s become return."
Along with the mention of Hamilton's return, Cameron suggests making a reinstallment of women in action movies. “There are 50-year-old, 60-year-old guys out there killing bad guys,” he said, referring to aging male actors still anchoring movies, “but there isn’t an example of that for women.”
That sounds like a fair treat. Cameron is going to work on the story of the movie and is producing it with Skydance and will be distributed by Paramount Pictures.
