A couple of years ago, Lindsay Lohan was cconsidering a lawsuit against Rockstar Games over a character named Lacey Jonas. The actress claimed that Rockstar had used her likeness in the game without her permission – despite the fact Rockstar had used another model (Shelby Welinder).
Lohan went on to file a lawsuit against the game developer in 2014, but whether the lawsuit would move forward or not had yet to be detailed.
Latest news regarding the case, as reported by THR, has revealed that the judge presiding over the case has allowed the case to move forward, despite Rockstar's parent company's take on the case. Take-Two has said the that New York's privacy law against likeness misappropriation cannot be used when works of art are being examined and states that the lawsuit is a "legally meritless" claim.
What does this mean? We get to hear about Lohan and Rockstar a lot more in the future and it's all thanks to the Lacey Jonas mission.
