Lionhead hopes to keep Fable Legends active for 5-10 years

Lionhead Studios has long-term plans for Fable Legends, its debut title for the Xbox One.

"This is the next big Fable game that is going to be out for five to 10 years so it needs to be big, it needs to be interesting," studio head John Needham told GI.biz. "There needs to be a lot of stuff to do, it needs to integrate all the cloud and Xbox One features so we keep our community alive and growing. So yeah, it's big and ambitious, but it needs to be because it's going to be around a long time."

This is all part of Lionhead's next-gen strategy for the property. Legends features a persistent online world and cooperative play for up to four people.

A beta is planned, but no release date has been announced yet for the game.

Today we also learned that Lionhead has delayed Fable Anniversary, an HD remake of the original Fable that's coming to Xbox 360, until February 2014.
