Lionsgate officially announces John Wick 2

We've known a sequel to John Wick 2 has been in development for a few months now, but only today did Lionsgate make an official announcement.

Keanu Reeves will return for the sequel to reprise his role as the badass ex-hitman John Wick. Also, directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski are back, along with writer Derek Kolstad who will pen the sequel.

“With such tremendous fan and critical support for John Wick, we knew that there was still so much more of this story to tell,” said Lionsgate executive Jason Constantine. “We are thrilled that Keanu, David and Chad have re-teamed with us and promise to bring audiences even more excitement the second time around.”

I'll be honest, I went into John Wick not knowing anything about it except for the fact that his dog dies. I came away very impressed, as it featured some very entertaining action sequences.
