After being announced the new Liverpool captain earlier today, Jordan Henderson has been voted the UK's cover star of FIFA 16.
Many fans across the world have been voting for several weeks for Premier League stars to feature on the cover of world renound game, and now it seems Henderson has pipped Sergio Aguero, Harry Kane and Thibaut Courtois in the public vote.
The man of the moment announced the news today via Twitter:
This marks the first time in the game's history that a Liverpool player will feature on the cover, capping off an exciting day for the 25-year old midfielder. Henderson was unveiled by Liverpool FC today as the successor to Steven Gerrard as club captain.
Commenting on the announcement, he said: 'Being part of the first FIFA cover vote was an incredible honour and it’s an amazing feeling to know that the public voted for me to come out on top and to be on the cover of FIFA 16 alongside Messi.
'I’m extremely proud to become the first Liverpool player ever on the cover and the support I’ve had from fans around the world over the past few weeks, particularly Liverpool supporters, has been overwhelming."
