Lobo one of six new heroes joining Justice League in January

Oh man, how sick is this!

Steve Orlando, the writer of the upcoming Justice League of America comic, has revealed the final three characters to be featured, and boy are they a doozy.

Vixen, Killer Frost, The Atom (Ryan Choi), The Ray, Black Canary, and surprise, surprise Lobo will join forces with Batman in the new series. Orlando told IGN that “For some people, Lobo will be a hero. For others, he'll be an anti-hero. It's moving past these black and white definitions and realizing that you have to have a malleable idea to serve everyone instead of just the people in the mainstream. Lobo, I think there's more to him than ever before.”

Now Lobo's design is going to be based on his classic form, not the hideous New 52 version that makes him look all goth emo. Of course, Orlando noted that since he'll be teamed up with Batman he won't be "exploding brains all over the place", but there will of course be some Mayhem. Batman himself joining the team is a bit of a surprise being as he already heads up the standard Justice League. According to Orlando, he decides to join JLA after interacting with Killer Frost in the first issue of Justice League vs Suicide Squad coming out in December. He wouldn't spoit it, but noted that

“Without giving too much away, I would say that the inspiration of this scene, perhaps paradoxically, comes from the events that happen between Batman and Frost, to show him that the world changed and heroism has to change with it. It's a reality check for him. Batman is someone who thinks that he always has everything under his thumb and under control but he has a moment where he realizes he has to rebuild, he has to change, he has to redefine heroism. The callout is that he's not the only one. There's maybe people that he can help do it, and even more importantly, there's people he can surround himself that can help him do that for himself,”

He also spoke on the possibility of Supergirl and how Black Canary joins the team.

The entire interview can be found over on IGN and first cover of the issue below So, what do you think about Lobo coming to Justice League? After all, he's basically the DC version of Deadpool attitude wise. Man, this is going to be good.
