One of the Nintendo DS' most underrated games, Lock's Quest may be getting a second shot at life on the gaming industry's biggest platforms. The German USK has apparently rated the game for PS4, Xbox One, and PC, despite the fact that its developer, 5th Cell, has long since closed its doors. Its publisher, now known as THQ Nordic, should have plenty of suitors looking to tackle the project.
This is by no means a confirmation that the game will indeed be made, but one would think there would be a big enough market for the game, considering the established mechanics that are beginning to be laid down for strategy games on consoles. Plus, it would be nice to play a console strategy game that isn't about aliens invading the Earth (XCOM 2) or Ancient China (Romance of the Three Kingdoms).
Lock's Quest originally came out back in 2008 for the Nintendo DS, and we enjoyed it when we reviewed it all those years ago, scoring it a 9/10. Lock's Quest is one of those charming little games that you wish could have gotten a second lease on life, so we can only hope that something comes of this.
