World renowned artist Robert “Logic” Hall, recently announced that he would be retiring from his career as a rapper, and would instead focus more on his family. This came as a shock to many, simply for the reason that he is a massive and still growing artist, that is making more and more music that the fans love. With this shock, however, it looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel.
Logic has always said that he is a fan of video games and is a self-proclaimed nerd. He believes that the world of rap and gaming have been very closely connected for the past 30 years. And with recent news, he proves his point. Hall will be signing a deal to stream with Twitch exclusively for 7 figures.
With all of the drama in the streaming community, such as Ninja maybe signing an exclusivity deal with YouTube, and Dr Disrespect announcing that he is coming back to streaming, but just not on Twitch, bringing Logic on board will be an amazing step forward for the platform.
Hall’s first stream will be on Twitch on Thursday, July 23rd and 5PM PT / 8PM ET, where he will be premiering his new LP, No Pressure, which is sure to gain a mass number of viewers for Twitch. You can also be sure that with this new deal, you will be seeing a lot more of Hall. Not only will he be premiering his new LP, but you can expect to see gaming content in the future, which may include collaborations with some other big name artists or streamers.
With more and more people signing exclusivity deals with streaming platforms, it was only a matter of time before even bigger names than just your favorite gamers would sign with platforms too. With Hall taking one of the first steps in this new era of streaming, and also being the first musician to sign with the platform, tons of big names are sure to follow.
