Long-awaited action-RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem out now on Steam

No Early Access, No online-only, Just Hack and Slash

Aptly-named Wolcen Studio has finally released their hack-and-slash action-RPG Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem. The isometric action game is currently only available on PC via Steam where you can get it for just $39.99. Watch the release trailer below!

The hack-and-slash genre is well and alive. After the unveiling of the alpha dog of the genre with Blizzard’s Diablo IV and just recently the third entry in the Torchlight franchise, now it’s Wolcen’s turn in the spotlight. The Kickstarter success from way back in 2015 is finally completed and available for purchase. Not only that, but it’s not even in Early Access. Not something you can take for granted these days, no matter how long the initial development period.

You are one of the three survivors of the slaughter of Castagath. Rescued by Grand Inquisitor Heimlock, you were drafted into the Republic’s Army of the Purifiers at a very young age to be trained in the military academy and become perfect soldiers against the supernatural. You also had the chance to benefit from Heimlock’s occasional advice and training, which led you and your childhood friends, Valeria and Edric, to be called the “Children of Heimlock”.
Recently, the Brotherhood of Dawn has infiltrated the Crimson Keep, a mysterious republican fortress lost among the northern deserts known as the Red wastes. While the purpose of the attack was unclear, the republican Senate voted a retaliation act against all known locations of the Brotherhood.

Gamers are already very happy with the final product which offers a great single-player campaign that can be played comfortably via online co-op, but unfortunate technical server-side issues have been hampering the otherwise very successful launch. The developer is well aware of these though and constantly working on solving all issues. Hopefully, it won’t take too long until Wolcen: Lords of Mayhem becomes a fully pain-free gameplay experience.
