Look out for Grand Theft Auto 5 news during tomorrow’s Take-Two earnings call

Grand Theft Auto fans starved for GTA 5 news should be interested in Take-Two's Q1 2013 earnings call. Take-Two, the parent company of Rockstar Games and 2K Games, is set to report on their financials tomorrow at 4:30 PM EST.

It's unknown what exactly will be talked about during the investor call. We'll likely hear about the earnings of recently released games like Spec Ops: The Line and Max Payne 3 as well as the company's financial outlook and future plans. Part of those plans, of course, is the release of Rockstar's highly anticipated title, Grand Theft Auto 5.

It's not guaranteed that the company will reveal any major details for Grand Theft Auto, like the release date, but we can usually pick apart a few of their words to get a better idea of the progress Rockstar is making with the game.

In May, an analysis of Take-Two's revenue goals for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2012 (as part of their Q4 2012 report) indicated a 2013 release for GTA 5, though there has been no confirmation to the validity of this assessment. Prior to that, in February's Q3 2012 conference call, the company announced GTA 5 was "making great progress".

Like I said, it's not any hard news, but it's a nice update from the usual silence we've been getting from Rockstar Games.

Developer Rockstar Games has recently addressed the lack of GTA 5 information, saying they refrain from releasing more news because "we want to make sure we only release 100% correct information, and because we want to keep plenty back for the actual game release so there are still lots of surprises when you play it."

"The only things we care about are that you enjoy the experience of actually playing the game and that we release accurate information," Rockstar recently defended in a fan Q&A. In that same Q&A, they did manage to tease us with two more screenshots.

So while I highly doubt we'll get any solid release date information, the radar is still on high alert for any possible Grand Theft Auto 5 news coming tomorrow.
