You'd think with Sony charging for PS Plus, and making it mandatory to play PS4 games online, the servers for PlayStation Network would be a little more reliable. Nope.
Once again — for what feels like the thousandth time this year — PSN is down. And once again, we have no idea why. This isn't some planned maintenance. I don't think it's a DDoS attack, which PSN has been susceptible of in the past. It's just… down. Sony has even confirmed PSN is down, but didn't offer any explanation.
"PSN is currently offline, and we are hard at work to resume service. At this time an estimate as to when PSN will be online is unavailable; however, we will update this article as soon as there's additional information," Sony writes on the PSN support site.
The site urges those interested in knowing when service will be restored to follow "Ask PlayStation" on Twitter, but they've got the same vague update.
If only PlayStation had the power of the cloud, right?
